Mount Everest base camp
Sean has just got back from another successful trip to Everest Base Camp. What a fantastic group. 19 of us in total and as usual, the more the merrier.
We couldn’t have asked for better weather – a bit hazy in the beginning but it cleared up beautifully. The views of Everest from Kala Pathar were staggering. The trip went smoothly and all but one reached Base Camp. The apple pie from the bakery at Base Camp was truly delicious – even at R1000 for two pies, it was still worth every crumb.
This is what Pat Raab had to say:
“…In some ways it was exactly what I had expected, in others absolutely not – and it was more difficult than I had thought it would be, despite “Kili experience”. That said, it was worth every minute of dusty track, slippy-slide over stones/sand,variable height steps and hopscotch over the rocks. An unforgettable experience in many ways!”
