Kili – to Uhuru Peak (5895m)

Kili – at Barafu

‘We’ve arrived at Barafu.  Everyone is well.  The weather is looking sweet – a bit windy and will be clear and cold tonight with full moon.  We depart at 11pm tonight for the summit bid’.

Kili – at Karanga camp (3930m)

 ‘We’re at Karanga camp. What a fantastic day – tough but rewarding.  We arrived to chicken and chips – chef Salvatore is outstanding. Everyone is off to have a late afternoon and much needed nap’.

Kili – top of Baranco wall

 Received 09:30am SA time (10:30 am Tanzanian time) ‘We’re on top of the wall. Beautiful views of Mt Meru. It’s warm above the clouds. Encouragement all around and everyone is in great form’.

Mt Meru (4566m) is located 70 kms west of Kili and is the 10th highest mountain in Africa.
