After a hearty dinner last night, the group would have shuffled off into the darkness to begin their hike up a steep path of scree and seasonal snow for about 7kms which will take approximately 8-10hrs. At Stella Point on the crater rim (5,685 m) they will stop for a short rest before the remaining hike along the rim to Uhuru Peak – the highest point in Africa.
