Ac – Base camp

Written By: sean on February 10, 2012 No Comment

Sean called at lunch time today (SA time) to say that they had just had breakfast (Argentina is 5 hrs behind SA) and he was about to give everyone a ‘technical’ – which means showing the team how to use their crampons with double boots, ice axes etc  – for when they leave the relative comfort of Base Camp and start high altitude climbing.

The plan tomorrow is to climb to Plaza Canada at 4900m, spend an hour or so adjusting to the thinning air and then return to base camp.  The forecast is for snow showers on Sat and Sun afternoon and night but the mornings are clear.
