Despatch from Sean: Yesterday (Thurs) we got into Plaza in 9.5 hrs…a long day but a rewarding one. Base camp is home for the next ten days and we have settled into our little yellow tents beautifully.
Today we went ice training in preparation for pushing up higher. Boots and crampons, ice axes and gloves – we glided between the ice pinnacles, the breeze at our backs. What a pleasure to be towered over by these solid ice formations, the icicles dripping away in the hot sun. Tomorrow that all changes as we move higher. We are watching the weather and it begins to deteriorate into the weekend. We hope to ‘tag’ Camp Canada at just under 5000m and bolt down before it starts snowing tomorrow night.
good luck to you all enjoy
To the Ac Team, keep going strong!
@Moe: See you’re true to form and rocking the hat, nice one brother! The packs looking a bit heavy, hope you didn’t pack in the weights for some last minute training.
Now would be when the fun starts, or the challenge I suppose, from anothers perspective 😉 Enjoy it!
