Mt Aconcagua – day 7 and 8

Written By: sean on February 8, 2013 9 Comments

Message from Molly –  ‘Here are some photos of the sunset from Plaza de Mulas last night. It was spectacular. Today (Thursday) we pushed to about 5250m, it was good. Please mention on the blog that we really appreciate everyone’s comments and support. We are following it too and save the pages to read to everyone offline at the dinner table’.

The group will rest today at base camp after their 6.5 hour round trip yesterday and may take a trek to Refugio (4250m).

Strong winds are predicted for the entire week, gusting up to 70km/h next Saturday.   Hold thumbs for a lull. To follow the weather, log onto http://www.snow-forecast.com/resorts/Aconcagua/6day/top

Will hold thumbs for the weather! Use those rest days to practise the card games and beat Sean. He doesn’t like losing at 7’s :-)

Thank you for the lovely pictures and visually including us in this incredible experience. Keep an eye out for the lenticular clouds. May our thoughts back home keep your steps lighter and your hearts and bodies warmer.

That looks spectacular. It resembles a iron fist in a velvet glove – beautiful but tough too. We thinking of you all. Keep your mind strong and listen to your body too. Caio.
