Kilimanjaro – Umbwe caves

The group caught the red eye on Friday night from Joburg to Nairobi and landed at Kili airport at 9am on Saturday. Yesterday was spent relaxing at the hotel pool and taking in the sights of Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance.
After breakfast at the hotel this morning, the crew drove to Umbwe gate (1800m). The trail started through the primary rain forest to Umbwe caves campsite (approx 7 hrs). Dinner and overnight at Umbwe caves (3000m).
Message from Sean ‘All good here. Lovely weather. Everyone doing well – even Kenneth :). We are going to have a great sleep tonight after the 7 hour trek’.
