Kili – AWC – Day 5

‘Wet, wet, wet…raining donkeys top of Baranco’ – said Sean yesterday,  so holding lots of thumbs for the weather to clear…

Today the team will take a slow trek to Barafu hut (4600m) through the wild alpine desert (approx 3 to 4 hrs).  After lunch, everyone will rest hard in preparation for tonight’s departure for the summit at about 11pm.  They will need to drink and eat heaps today so they have enough energy for tonight’s endurance event. If all goes well, they should reach the summit (Uhuru Peak – 5895m) tomorrow morning (Thurs) between 6am and 8am…
