Aconcagua 2018 – Mendoza to Penitentes

At last our bags have arrived. After being delayed before leaving South Africa, it appears the entire baggage handling system of Latam airlines packed up and went South. Four bags all at once. In this remarkably connected world no-one at the airline would pick up a phone and check that the lost bags had physically been sent to us. It was only after three taxi rides, an extra nights accommodation and a day lost that the ground crew decided to make a phone call and viola all was back on track. Then they offered us U$25 each to compensate for our costs. So they covered dinner.

Anyhow we are on the road collecting our permits today and heading up by road to Penitentes.
