EBC – Namche

Written By: sean on May 6, 2010 6 Comments

Received from Sean: After two days of windy, snowy trekking out from Everest Base Camp we are back in Namche Bazaar and back on the dial-up. What a jol we have had!  Ups and downs a plenty, lots of laughs and an argument.

The other night we had an argument about illegal aliens in the world, and also about the colour of oxygenated blood and how expensive beer is in the Khumbu valley.  In the end it is all because David Cameron doesn’t have a heart for South Africans without visas and that’s why the stock market has crashed.

For Roy, life is still sweet and he didn’t argue at all. At home, he drives an Alfa Romeo and here he dresses the most stylish of all of us. And that must be why all the gorgeous lady trekkers in the valley always greet him in Italian “Bella”!

Goose doesn’t shower, she only uses a bowl and Nancy Drew hasn’t run out of paper yet.

Marthinus and Michelle can run up Everest.

Steve turned 50 yesterday and we hammered his bottle of Scotch with the Sherpas.

Snackpot had trouble with chafe going up the hills today so he used toilet paper in his panty for the pain.
