Kili – Day 4 – to Karanga camp (3960m)

Just in: “All into Karanga camp and going strong. Having my favourite tucker – chicken and chips. Going to nap and then take a stroll higher up, after tea at 4.30 to help acclimatise. Everyone enjoyed the trek today. Flowers everywhere”.

Received from Sean mid morning: “We’re at the top of the Baranco wall (4200m). It’s misty and chilly. There’s lots of water in the rivers and waterfalls everywhere. All well.  Jonathan firing the Nikon. Richard stretching regularly.  Woza Karanga”.

The day began with a descent into the Gorge, and then they ascended the great Baranco wall (approx 1 hour). They continued the walk over gently sloped hills and through valleys.  Dinner and overnight at the spectacular Karanga camp.
