Mt Elbrus – 2 days to go before departure

Written By: sean on August 6, 2010 One Comment

While all of Russia burns and while Muscovites are evacuating the capital, eleven of us are getting ready to fly in!  How comical is that.  It all feels like a typical Wisedale expedition.  Yep – we are en route to the highest mountain in Europe – Mt Elbrus 5642 meters above sea level.  If all goes well, I hope to blow the vuvie on the summit – if I have the breath.  It will be a first for me.

There are 4 gals and 7 guys on the trip.  Watch this space for updates (depending on signal) as the story unfolds.

Many thanks to Andre Naude from Bushtec who has sponsored us four 2-man tents and one 3-man tent.
