Mt Elbrus – Day 6 – Camp 2

Written By: sean on August 13, 2010 2 Comments

‘What a day!  We’re in Camp 2 at 4000m.  George has been hilarious after his stomach bug came back strong – this time with dyslexia.  Baksan valley is Buscan valley.  Imodium tablets are amonium tablets.  He’s been keeping us very amused.  Big dump of snow now – we’re tucked in camp and about to go to sleep.  Bit concerned about the deteriorating weather.  Heavy fall of snow predicted tomorrow – heaviest on Sunday night. Minimum temperature tomorrow night with wind chill is minus 26 celcius.  Plan is to keep moving up tomorrow to Pastukhova Rocks at 4600m. It’s going to be tough going I suspect’.

Frosty dawn

Hey cousin Michelle, heard from your mom about the climb. Awesome stuff. Just got back from a cruise to Russia and Baltic cities… was tanning on the ship deck not climbing in the snow, but sounds likeyou doing incredible things. Go for it! Dave
