Rwenzoris – Nyabitaba Hut – end of the day

From Sean: What a great day!  When we signed the register into the Park, I noticed that there were only two other climbers on the mountain.  We met them as we ascended to Nyabitaba Hut.  They are two Japanese guys who skied down the glacier. Skiing on the equator – what next!  But that sums up the extremity of the Rwenzoris – it’s spectacular. The Mubuku Valley is a scene out of Avatar or is Avatar a scene out of the Rwenzoris?  It’s unbelievable – there are mountains floating everywhere. Everyone is so stoked to be here.  Athol took at least fifty pictures of ten different chameleons.   Andrew packed his floral brolly and took a few mocking hits from the guys.  It could be a case of he who laughs last, laughs longest scenario tomorrow.  We cracked open the sherry and toasted to a great day into the hills before we crashed into our -10 sleeping bags, the river below roaring us to sleep.
