Rwenzoris – Day 4 Nyabitaba Hut to John Matte Hut (3505m)

Today’s trek involves a seven hour hike up to John Matte hut situated in a grove of giant heather. The trail leads to the Kurt Shafer Bridge which crosses the Mubuku valley.  Beyond the river, the trail climbs steadily up through bamboo forest and after a few more hours of trekking, the giant lobelia and groundsel zone begins.
