Kili – to Baranco camp (3950m)
Message from Sean last night was that they were all settled in at Umbwe campsite. One of the climbers – John Wouters’ gear bag hadn’t arrived from his long haul flight so John’s had to borrow gear – they’re all mixing and matching and doing well. It poured down yesterday nearly drowning them – the route was a river said Sean. They ended the day with Tilapia fish for dinner.
Today, the group will start the ascent with a packed lunch to Baranco camp. Shortly after leaving the camp the forest starts thinning and is replaced by rockier terrain, sparser undergrowth and straggly, moss-covered trees. The path continues along a narrow, spectacular ridge and over rocky sections towards the Moorland zone. Dinner and overnight at Baranco camp (3950m).
ha ha that’s great. The old lost gear trick. Maybe John just wanted to borrow a skirt off someone 🙂
Thank goodness for great camaraderie in borrowing gear! She’ll be right! Your preserverance is admirable! Keep Safe!
Well, the airline has an obligation to deliver a lost bag to where ever the passengar might be!
