Mt Aconcagua – Confluencia – 3368m

After leaving the Penitentes hostel yesterday, the group took a short drive to the Aconcagua Park entrance. Here the permits were checked by the park rangers and then the trek began. It took them about 4 hours to reach camp Confluencia. Mules transported most of their heavy gear. Lunch, dinner and overnight at Confluencia. Tent accommodation from here onwards.

Today they will do an acclimatisation trek to Plaza Francia – 4200m – and will return to Confluencia to overnight.
