Island Peak – Gokyo (4750m)

Yesterday was a fairly big day with a push over Reno Pass (5435m) .  If the visibility was good, they would have experienced a magnificent mountainscape which included Everest in the background and the lakes of Gokyo in the foreground.  The group then gunned down the hill into Gokyo for a hearty meal at one of the great tea-houses and a great nights rest. Today is a rest day in Gokyo. It’s also Mario’s birthday.  Happy birthday Mario.
