Message from Sean over the weekend – “All good here in Kathmandu. Delays in Doha were a pain but now resting and enjoying the luxury of the Hyatt.  Fun group in Thamel for dinner tonight and then back to the Hyatt to watch the Sharks game!”

The past two days have been spent in Kathmandu doing last minute shopping and enjoying the craziness of Kathmandu specifically Thamel.  Today – if the weather is good – an early morning Twin Otter aircraft will take the group to Lukla, the most renowned and shortest mountain airstip in the world. During the flight, they’ll hopefully get to see many of the world’s highest mountains, including Kanchenjunga, Lhotse and Makalu (the world’s 3rd, 4th and 5th highest respectively).  On arrival, they’ll meet their Sherpas and after a cup of tea, start the high altitude trek by descending to the river at Phakding.
