Sean’s just called to say they are at Colera (5900m).  All good and strong and preparing for the summit attempt tomorrow.  They will depart at about 4am (9am SA time).

Sean phoned from the satellite phone last night (Thurs) to say that they were all safely ensconced at camp Nido (5500m).  Everyone was doing well. The wind wasn’t as strong as predicted.  Today they climb to camp Colera (5900m) and tomorrow they will depart very early for the summit.

Mt Aconcagua – day 8 and 9

Change of plans.  Instead of caching their loads at Camp Canada or Nido on Sunday, the team climbed to the peak of Cerro Bonetti, a 5100m cone of scree standing five kilometres from Base Camp.

Molly finally got her gear bag delivered to Base Camp yesterday.
